Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated August 2026
This describes what happens to money already paid when an event or a vendor booking is cancelled. It doesn't cover event RSVPs themselves - attending or RSVPing to an event on Trevent is always free, and can be changed or withdrawn at any time at no cost.
1. Before a vendor accepts your booking
A vendor booking starts by paying an advance, then waits for the vendor to accept. If they decline, or you cancel before they respond, your advance is refunded in full to your Trevent wallet, where you can use it toward another booking or request a withdrawal.
2. After a vendor accepts - it's confirmed
Once a vendor accepts your booking, it's confirmed on both sides - the vendor has committed their availability to your event. From this point, cancelling isn't one-sided: either you or the vendor can request to cancel, but it only actually cancels once the other side agrees. If you both agree, the booking is cancelled with no automatic refund of the advance already paid to the vendor - it was earned in good faith once accepted.
If you can't reach an agreement, open a support ticket referencing the booking and our team will review it.
3. If the whole event is cancelled
Cancelling an event cancels every vendor booking tied to it. A booking still awaiting the vendor's response is refunded in full. A booking the vendor has already accepted follows the same rule as above - the advance isn't automatically refunded, since the vendor has already committed to it.
4. How a refund is paid
Refunds are credited to your Trevent wallet, not reversed to your original card or UPI app - this makes them instant rather than waiting on a bank's own refund timeline. From your wallet, you can put the balance toward another booking or request a withdrawal.
5. When a vendor gets paid
A vendor's earnings from a booking are credited to their Trevent wallet once accepted (the advance) and once the event is marked complete (the remainder), but stay on hold for 48 hours after the event completes before they can be withdrawn - this gives a short window for either side to flag a problem before the payment is finalized.
Withdrawing from a wallet requires an admin to approve the request before it's sent to the vendor's UPI ID - this isn't automatic, so a withdrawal may take a little time to process.
6. No-shows
If a vendor doesn't show up for a confirmed, paid booking, or an organizer's event doesn't happen without cancelling the booking first, open a support ticket right away with what happened - these are handled case by case, not by an automatic rule.
7. Adding to an existing booking
You can add more quantity, another package, or another vendor to a booking that's already confirmed - each addition is its own booking with its own advance, and follows all the same rules above. It never changes or removes what you already booked and paid for.
8. Disputes
If anything here doesn't cover your situation, open a ticket through Support and describe what happened - a real person will look into it.
