Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
This describes what Trevent collects, why, and who else ever sees it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than pure legal boilerplate.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, phone number, email, and city.
- Event and guest data: events you create, who you invite, and their RSVP responses - including guest names, emails, or phone numbers you provide to invite them.
- Vendor details: for vendor accounts, your business name, GST/PAN, bank/UPI details for payouts, portfolio photos, and any government ID used for verification.
- Booking and payment records: what was booked, the amounts involved, and payment status - not your card or UPI PIN, which never reaches Trevent (see section 3).
- Location: only when you search for or enter an address (event venue, vendor office address), via Google's address-lookup service.
- Messages: the content of vendor-organizer chat, which is scanned for attempts to move payment off-platform (see our Terms).
- Usage data: pages viewed and basic device/browser information, to keep the platform working and secure.
2. Why we collect it
To run the platform: creating your account, letting organizers invite guests, generating QR check-in codes, processing vendor bookings and payments, and sending you the notifications you'd expect (booking updates, invitations, OTP codes). We don't sell your personal data.
3. Who else sees it
We share the minimum needed with the services that make Trevent work:
- Razorpay - processes payments. Your card/UPI details go directly to them, never through Trevent's own servers.
- Google Maps - resolves addresses you type or search for into a location.
- Cloudinary - hosts photos you upload (event banners, vendor portfolios, verification selfies).
- Our email provider - delivers the OTPs, invitations, and notifications Trevent sends on your behalf.
Each only receives what they need to do their part - a payment processor doesn't see your guest list, a mapping service doesn't see your payment history.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and booking history for as long as your account is active, plus whatever period we're legally required to retain financial records for (invoices, payment records) after that. If you request account deletion, we remove what we can and retain only what the law requires us to.
5. Your choices
You can, through your account or by contacting support:
- Update your profile details at any time.
- Turn off email notifications you don't want (transactional messages like OTPs still go through, for account security).
- Request a copy of the data we hold on your account.
- Request that we deactivate or delete your account.
The fastest way to ask for any of these is a ticket through Support.
6. Security
Passwords are never stored in plain text, sensitive routes require you to be logged in, and administrative actions on the platform are logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your data.
7. Children
Trevent isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
9. Contact / grievance officer
For any privacy question, or to raise a concern about how your data has been handled, contact us through Support or at support@trevent.in.
